SUMMARY:Member Events: The Green Room Exhibitions - John Murray
DESCRIPTION:Based on images from Soviet newspapers and images\, Breaking Up bears witness to a country with a short but tumultuous history. \nUsing elements of figuration and abstraction\, the paintings combine textual and visual elements\, predominantly of the later Soviet period\, when the threads that held together the fabric of the Union gradually began to loosen until\, to everyone’s surprise\, the entire vast patchwork of nations and peoples unravelled. Almost overnight a country of some 290 million people with over a hundred ethnic groups and covering more than a sixth of the earth’s landmass was no more. \nArtist Bio \nWorking and living in Dublin\, John Murray is a painter who has exhibited throughout the country and internationally and is a member of the Nua Art Collective. Named Irish Print Journalist of the Year for his reporting from Russia with The Sunday Tribune newspaper\, John holds a PhD in Russian from Trinity College\, Dublin\, where he lectures with the Russian Department. For several years he ran a Masters programme in Textual and Visual Studies. \nView John Murray’s artist profile here \n\n\n \n\n\n\n Your Name:\n \n \n Your E-mail:

SUMMARY:Member Events: Perspective Exhibition - Lucy Lambe
DESCRIPTION:MEMBER EVENTS \nLucy Lambe – Sister Hildegard \nPart of Perspective Exhibition\n📍 Spacecraft Studios\, Mungret Street\, Limerick City\n📅 Until 30 April\, 2025 | 10AM–4PM\n🔗 spacecraftlimerick.com \nIn Sister Hildegard\, Lucy Lambe memorialises the 1016 children who died at Sean Ross Abbey Mother and Baby Home between 1931 and 1966. \nBuried beneath moss\, earth\, and rotting vegetation are handwritten names on cotton paper—each one a life lost\, each name a quiet act of resistance. A bottle of holy water sits beside a box of soil and memory. Their names matter. \nPart of the Perspective exhibition at Spacecraft Studios.
