This piece began as a Gedankenexperiment. Could tree rings contain a record of something other than growth cycles, weather or disease? Could there be a record of celestial events? A trace of cosmic or gravitational waves embedded at a cellular or molecular level or maybe very subtle contortions of growth from the gravity of the sun and moon?  With the inclusion of a device I want to suggest this encoded information could be retrievable from the Cherrywood disc.
