Aphrodite at night is from Jennifer’s current and ongoing series of work titled Methodology. For the first time Jennifer has introduced symbolism into her work. The reference of mythological characters add meaning to the paintings.

Description
Aphrodite was one of the first paintings created in this new series of painting and was created as a celebration of all things feminine. Here Aphrodite demands to hold the gaze of the viewer. In this painting the style of paintings plays a significant role in subverting the gaze. Quick gestures, mark making and disinterest in pretty or beautiful help to challenge the viewer to look at the figure from a new perspective. The moon is a feminine symbol. Orchards are associated with fertility, virility and sexuality.
