Dance Floor shows 3 unidentified females crawling across a floor. One is faceless , only distinguishable by her body. One has her head upside which symbolises Jennifer dissatisfaction on representations of the female nude. One moves towards the viewer, defiantly challenging you to look at them in positions that have a sexual connotation.
With regard to meaning, the images of the women in her paintings are rejecting the consumption of the gaze on their naked bodies. They are not ashamed but silently and playfully protesting the exploitation of the female body in contemporary society and media. Behind them come the wings of Zeus, seeking his next victim. In no way are these women presented in a way that seeks approval. However they challenge the viewer to interact and respond to how women are individually reclaiming the representation of their own bodies.
