Spring is gently springing, and its surface is ever changing.

This series of four paintings explores the Spring light as it grows stronger in the skies behind my studio. The village sits in the shadow of the hills during the winter months until the earth shifts on its axis, and the light begins to return.

I have chosen to work into brass with this series as I found this allows me to explore warm, bright reflected light within the paintings. The scored surface shimmers slightly when viewed from different angles, refreshing the scene with changing light.
