Using a broken frame, representing βfour wallsβ of confinement, the container β desiring to hold, the liquid β desiring to drift. Watching the liquid flow formlessly, settling only briefly -it is both relaxed and aggressive. It flows, it bubbles. It is chaos, it is calm.
Techniques of repetition and sharp-cuts adds to the disruption of the materials being handled. The title derives from the action of subtle movement, the gentle caress of the liquid from the hands. The work incorporates high contrast within both the visual imagery and materials. I aim to experiment with the aggressive relationship between presence and absence. Neither here nor there, handle with care.
