Sandcastles, digging holes, burying your siblings in the sand. Such ambitious constructs need the right tools. At least that was the argument that was put to me in the shop in Curracloe earlier that day. The red bucket was spotted through the car window from great distance amongst the display of multicoloured beach balls, boogie boards and miscellaneous beach ‘essentials’. It was held proudly like a new-born all the way to the beach and it was surprising there was any water left in the sea by the end of the long hot day.

This artwork is unframed. Personally when I display these small works on tiles my preference is to place them on a shelf or picture rail. Customers have in the past, who wish to wall mount have got similar pieces set into a plain box frame, or have added hanging attachments onto the back using an epoxy adhesive.
