I have always had a great sense of curiosity about stone circles and the rituals associated with them. These stones represent both physical and historical markers in the landscape and provide a link to our past. When I visit the site of a stone circle, I draw from the energy in the place and try to visualise and people who erected these imposing structures, I think about their function and their alignment with the winter solstice and spring equinox, and the lines of energy that cross the site where the stones are placed

During recent visits to stone circles, I began to look more closely at the landscape beyond the circles, at manmade structures, wind turbines, electric cables, etc., and how these structures have become markers we will leave in the landscape.
I try to convey this thought process through my prints using geometric shapes and building up layers of colour.
