The process of generating a watercolour monoprint is to paint on a specially prepared Lexan plate with watercolours. I then pass the plate through an etching press and print onto the dampened Zirkall paper. I have discovered that I can then paint and reprint onto the same sheet of paper in order to build a layered image of multiple, single prints.

This image is unique and is part of a series of vessel paintings that I have produced in both oil paint and monoprint.
The fabric that the image was initially based on recurs in my paintings. It was a fabric that was passed down from my grandmother.
