To me these old gates hold in themselves the fantastical reality of life
They are beautiful, handcrafted and functional. They bear the hands of their makers and these paintings represent a simple time gone by.

By painting them in two different watercolour styles I am carrying on the tradition of individuals making these gates but in a totally different media.
