The Nua Collective “Blackout” collection is at Vent Space in Tallinn, Estonia from Wednesday 17th of January 2024 to January 26th. This exhibition, featuring the works of 13 Nua Collective artists, offers an exploration of climate change through the lens of blackout — creating a conversation about the loss of self-security stemming from our reliance on unreliable energy sources.
The artworks engage in a dialogue with our human responses to the insecurity inflicted by the anthropomorphic blackout. Each piece is a unique lino print, created and processed in a way that has already taken them around the globe. These prints not only showcase the artistic prowess of Nua Collective but also serve as a global testament to the urgency of this message.
This exhibition is a multi-dimensional journey. Alongside the striking artworks, “Blackout” will premiere the ‘BLACKOUT Documentary‘, providing an insightful perspective on the theme. The documentary will be screened at Vent Space throughout the exhibition run, offering visitors an immersive experience that delves deeper into the context and creation of the collection.
“Blackout” is our collective’s inquiry into our climate catastrophe and the persistent energy crisis we face. We invite you to join us in the exploration of the interconnectedness between art, environment, and our shared human experience.
