Release (Video), Waiting to Escape Again (text)

“Release” consists of recording a daily walk throughout lockdown in Northern Ireland. It explores the anxiousness that was faced due to the uncertainty of what the pandemic meant for everyone. It allows the viewer to drift off to the melancholy of the atmosphere within the video.  The text “Waiting to Escape Again” is a diary entry from a place that I would normally go to for a therapeutic journey of ease and calmness turned the opposite, due to my inner emotions creating an unsettling narrative and constantly worrying about the pandemic. It is trying to overcome that state of anxiousness, and having that moment to breathe, until reality releases itself once again.
