‘Blooming I’ is from a working photographic series, which stems from the interest I have in my rural, everyday surroundings. The work originates from exploring my surrounding habitat and allowing myself to connect with the land, by understanding how the plants have grown over time and naturally occupy the ever-growing environment. The series questions the juxtaposition of the natural growth between the plants and the weeds, questioning what makes them different as they all stem from the same rural landscape. Producing this work has helped me to explore a dynamic relationship between human and land and to understand how a certain place can greatly influence our emotions.
